What is craniosacral therapy?
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle hands on treatment that helps to release tensions in the body helping to treat pain and dysfunction and aid in improving whole body health.
what do I need to wear?
As treatment performed with the client fully clothed anything comfortable is recommended.
how long is a treatment session?
Typically one hour, although shorter sessions of half an hour are sometimes advised as well as longer but will always be discussed with you.
how long should I leave between treatments ?
It’s usually ok to leave a week or 2 between treatments initially, although some clients prefer to come back sooner. If coming for maintenance treatments you can leave 1-2 months in between or longer, it depends on the individual and the condition.
how many sessions will I need?
This very much depends on the condition and how chronic or complex it is. On average approx 3-4 treatments but often clients come back for maintenance treatments once the problem has eased or resolved.
will I be sore following treatment ?
While it’s very common to get a reaction to treatment it is rarely a painful one usually quite the opposite in fact.
will I be able to go to work after a treatment?
Yes that should be absolutely fine, although you may want to seek treatment at a time when you don’t have to in order to make the most of the relaxed state that the body is usually in. Many clients report feeling deeply relaxed and tired post treatment.
Am I ok to receive treatment while on medication?
Yes that’s absolutely fine. any medication you take will be discussed during your first appointment and monitored throughout.
How much does a session cost ?
Prices start at £50 for an a one hour session.
is it ok to have Craniosacral therapy and while also receiving other treatments ?
It’s perfectly safe to have CST to compliment other treatment modalities but it’s always advisable to inform all therapists about any other treatments you are receiving.
